How is the outdoor fire lit correctly? How long does it burn?

To light your outdoor fire, you can use standard lighters or matches. When first used, it may take longer for the permanent wick to ignite; a stick lighter is particularly useful in such cases. With a constant supply of wax, the fire can burn virtually endlessly. However, to prevent damage to the wick and the fire, you should refill wax every 1.5 to 2 hours and do not let the wick protrude more than 3 cm from the wax. If you have difficulty lighting, place a small piece of wax on the wick and try again.

How do I fill the outdoor fire with wax?

Filling up is easy. Add our wax granules or leftover candles to the combustion chamber. No prior melting is necessary. Various commercially available types of wax can be used. Leftover candles with wicks can also be used; Wicks can be removed afterwards.

How do I put out the outdoor fire and how do I care for the extinguishing board?

To extinguish the outdoor fire, place the extinguishing board flush on the fire. This should be left on until no more smoke is seen. The board will show signs of wear over time, but can be protected from the elements by treating it with weatherproof wood oil.

How do I handle the outdoor fire in rain and frost?

The outdoor fire can be left outside in the rain as the wick is protected from water by the wax. However, rain can cause the concrete to calcify, which can cause stains on substrates. Although this will not harm the fire, we recommend protecting the fire from rain. Particular caution is required in frosty conditions: Make sure there is no liquid in the combustion chamber to avoid damage from freezing water.
